On May 9, 2019, Zhailjau Golf Club in Almaty (Kazakhstan) hosted the IX Audi Quattro Cup. For the first time in the tournament history, this major amateur golf event was sponsored by a European investment company EXANTE. Audi Quattro Cup Series are held in 54 countries, thus ranking as the largest amateur golf contest in the world. The Audi Quattro Cup timeline spans 800 tournaments and over 1 million participants.

The opening ceremony was attended by the creme de la creme of the Kazakh establishment, including business leaders Esengali Baimenov, Erlan Baymuratov, Davran Ibragimov, Igor Kuznetsov and Kairat Mazhubayev, Chairman of the Constitutional Council Kairat Mami, political leader Nurtai Abykaev, ex-Minister Vladimir Shkolnik, ex-Minister Erkin Kaliev, Minister of Digital Development, Defence and Aerospace Industry Askar Zhumagaliev, Member of the Board of DAMU Bektas Muhamedzhanov and other prominent figures.

‘I’m happy that EXANTE is Partner to such a grand event’, said Guntars Pupelis, EXANTE Sales Director Europe and CIS, in his opening speech. ‘Kazakhstan has become another motherland to me whereas Almaty remains a city I would visit over and over again. On this lovely spring day, it’s a great pleasure to attend the tournament – amateur by status, yet highly professional by nature’.

Dainis Rozenfelds, Head of Wealth Management at EXANTE, actually tried himself in the game and made some great shots!

Guntars Pupelis also thanked the organisers and participants for this tremendous event. The finalists got their tickets to the finals of Audi Quattro Cup 2019 that will be hosted by Kitzbühel, Austria, on September 22—26, 2019.

‘I’m sure the finalists will honorably represent Kazakhstan at the finals. Alga Kazakhstan!’ — wished Guntars.
