With the global pandemic currently going around the world, Star Wars producers are thinking of releasing Rise of Skywalker earlier than its release date.

Buckle up, Star Wars fans!

Although it’s not new for Disney to move a streaming date earlier than its actual release date, with the novel coronavirus around, it’s always best to keep people at home.

It’s official– Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker will be hitting Disney+ screens earlier than its expected streaming date.

May the Fourth be With You

On May 4, fans will get to watch the sci-fi movie instead of waiting for two months as scheduled on the release date.

On Monday, the news was confirmed and made official. The new release date will be the unofficial fan holiday for Star Wars fans. Therefore, fans can say, “May the Fourth be With You,” in a more humorous way.

To add up to the excitement, Disney also announced that all nine Skywalker films would be available on Disney+ for fans to watch before the Rise shows.

Disney on releasing Rise of Skywalker

The Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker was supposed to show in cinemas in July. But, with the global pandemic that has been going around, Disney decided to stream it earlier via Disney+.

This is also an advantage for everyone so they can stay at home and keep safe from the virus.

However, this is not the first time that Disney released a movie earlier than its expected date. In fact, they have made the movie Onward available on Disney+ a few months soon.

Disney also made Frozen 2 available for streaming three months earlier to its planned streaming service date because of the pandemic.

The movie Rise was released in cinemas worldwide on December 20 last year. The movie was able to get billions of dollars as profit, and it also became a worldwide box office.

However, in the entire Star Wars series, Rise is one of the lowest-scoring films among all. But, despite the criticism, Rise had the highest audience score based on Rotten Tomatoes.

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker stars Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Bayoga, Oscar Isaac, and a lot more.

Furthermore, the Rise of Skywalker will focus on Rey, Fin, and Poe Dameron as they go on their final stand against Kylo Ren and the First Order. Palpatine, who is a galactic emperor that returned from the dead, escorts Kylo and his army against the three protagonists.
