We Never See Nothing

I’m trying to get paid for a service anonymously (not illegal), and I would like to use Bitcoin. I like the idea of my info not being hacked, etc. BUT I don’t understand how it works, or how I get the actual money, or is it actual money? I’ve read reddit threads, diagrams, articles, and watched a YouTube video in which a woman used legos to make her point; that one almost stuck. This is my last attempt to understand before I say screw it, I’m not meant to understand, move on. Break it down to me like I’m 4. I would be very grateful.
